Re: Problem launching 4.2.2 on Yosemite (mac)

Yes, that was a typo. Meant to type ".jar". And thanks for the edit. Just to be clear, for purposes of using the JAVA console I launch FRP via the .jnlp file. The JAVA console does not appear when launching FRP with the .jar file. Also, I do not have to "force quit" while waiting for the FRP window ...

Re: Problem launching 4.2.2 on Yosemite (mac)

Apologies for the delay. It took me a little while to figure out the JAVA console, but once past that, this is what I found. The JAVA console provides the below text in blue. Unfortunately none of the debug features ("dump thread list", etc) function when the FRP window fails to appear. I can, howev...

Re: basic calculation question

I neglected to mention that the spending policy was set to "stable". I tried setting retirement spending to zero, and the portfolio value at retirement then shows $1,085,000, which is what I expected. Guess that narrows my question down to how the $50,000 annual retirement spending is handled. If I ...

basic calculation question

Thank you for providing such a flexible tool. I experimented with a number of scenarios to get a feel for the output and am now back to basics to make sure I understand how the planner works. My approach was to start simple and add complexity/variables one at a time to see the effects. Unfortunately...
