Re: Quick Question

Hi Jim, I didn't have latest version. I'm so glad you fixed the discrepancy between initial vs. retirement portfolio value, when the retirement year is in the past. Regarding the discrepancy I mentioned, it's unchanged. I think the web site is a tough medium for communication about subtleties and fo...

Re: Quick Question

Oh, but there is another, more substantial problem. I get the same results initially, but for that small error, but after 42 years, the taxable results from the program show a taxable account value of $1,778,438, while I get a substantially different result, $2,581,597. I'm 90% sure my coding is cor...

Re: Quick Question

Thanks Jim, Well, your explanation makes good sense, but unfortunately the program does not reset as you suggested, and, worse yet, I never did enter 3.53%. I would have no reason to enter that kind of precision for investment returns. I'm curious if that's a bug that can be fixed, but now that I kn...

Quick Question

Hi Jim, Thank you again for your excellent program, and for your patience with questions. The attached image was produced with investment return at 3.5%, no standard deviation, and inflation at 2%, no standard deviation. In the tax-free column, can you please tell me what formula the program is usin...

Re: Possible Bug

Oh geez. You're right, of course. 70 is the age when RMDs start.
Anyway, thank you so much for the help, and I hope my confusion might prove to be useful in some way.

Re: Possible Bug

Hi Jim, Thanks again for replying. Yes, but the min withdrawal age really is a lot higher than my chronological age. I happened to have had it set at 70, but the legal limit for someone of my generation is actually 72. So how would it make sense to choose a lower age? I'd be basing my forecast on in...

Re: Possible Bug

Hi Jim, Thank you for getting back to me! The min age setting is at 70. I am still pretty confused. If you look at the row for Age 67, the taxable income is well below $200k, so where did you get the figure $250k? Also, can you tell me what the $827k figure is all about?! (This is seen under "n...

Possible Bug

Hello, Your program is just awesome. You've been so kind in answering a couple of questions in the past, and I have a new question. Please refer to the attached PNG image. Have a look at the highlighted line in the Detailed Output. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how the $79k in taxes was ca...

Can't see file structure

Hi, I'm a long-time licensee, user, and fan. Suddenly, FRP stopped being able to open my FRP files. I am running MAC OS 10.15.7. - When I choose "open with" after right-clicking on an FRP file, and then choose "all applications" instead of "recommended applications," FR...
