Re: How to enter spouse 401k account info?

Thank you so much! I had to look at the detailed output to see it was the "other way around". I'm finally getting the hang of this! LOL Thanks for the advice on the split retirement and savings withdrawls. I'll be purchasing a license, as I find this very useful. There's not many Monte Car...

Re: How to enter spouse 401k account info?

Thanks Jim! I think with your explanations now it helps me to understand things better. And, since it's based on age of the person on the summary tab, (older spouse as 51, retire at 65) I'd enter the spouse's info into the additional inputs for tax deferred savings as: Start Year: 51 End Year: 65 Bu...

Re: Deferred Annual savings - limits?

thanks Jim, So is there a way to both: 1) account for increased contributions (ie, if you're getting a 2% raise every year and putting 15% of your income into the fund, then the dollar contribution will increase every year) and 2) Account for inflation? IF I'm understanding you correctly, the "...

Re: Deferred Annual savings - limits?

Thanks, I must've done something wrong. So when I entered "additional inputs" and put the 457b contribution (current year 15% would be 15,399), and a 1% COLA I notice on the Detailed View, it actually DECREASES the "new investment" amount so that by the time I'm 65 it's only depo...

Re: How to enter spouse 401k account info?

Thanks for the assist. Pardon me while I write out a long post here, but just wanted to make sure I'm doing things correctly and then maybe I could help write up a "how do I" with examples, (and even screenshots) so maybe it'll help others out? OK, so: 1) On Summary View tab, enter the cur...

How to enter spouse 401k account info?

I see the additional input section. I'm confused because the "main" screen seems to be comprised of the 7 additional inputs. However, I don't see anywhere in the additional inputs where you are asked for Portfolio balances and contributions. For example: I'm 46, I have 66k in my 457b and c...

Deferred Annual savings - limits?

New user here. Assuming I am reading/understanding the "Deferred annual savings" correctly: 1) This is where I'd put in how much I'm contributing each year to say, 457(b) or 401k plan, yes? 2) The documentation says this increases by the rate of inflation every year? 3) but doesn't seem to...
