Re: Add'l Withdrawal with taxes - Detailed View
It looks like that last column (additional withdrawal w/taxes) doesn't get populated in years before retirement has started. I'll have to look into the code to see why, but I believe this is only a problem with the output and not a problem with the simulation engine. I'm pretty confident that the fu...

Re: Portfolio Balance with Early/late Social Security Paymen
Paul, What you've described certainly seems counter-intuitive. I assume you've verified that the simulation is doing what you expect in terms of withdrawals by looking at the year-by-year detailed results. You might try setting the spending policy to Stable, just to make sure that this setting isn't...

Re: Java?
This usually means that either you've disabled or restricted Java in the browser or that your Java installation has somehow become corrupted. I'm not sure why, but I've been hearing from more users with corrupted Java installations lately. The good news is that this is usually easy to fix and you ha...

Re: Investing Style
When min=90 and max=150, I get 100% I get a probability of success of 100% and a green light. when I set min=75 and max=150 I get probabilty of success 100% but a yellow light and an average shortfall of 0%. Because I lowered the minimum funding rate that can be used, shouldn't I get a green light?...

Re: Pension COLA variables
In the current version of the planner (v4-00-xx), pension with cola cashflows will exactly keep up with inflation. The next release of the planner has some extra capability for handling colas. In addition to no cola and cola, the planner will offer a 'fixed cola' option. With this option you can spe...

Re: Suggestion for standalone application - new 'feature'
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the post, the suggestion, and for the kudos on the planner.
As it happens, I implemented something very similar to your request in the latest version of the planner and I'd be happy to send you an updated copy of it if you send me an email.
Best,
Jim

Re: some initial feedback
Ted, Thanks for all this great feedback. Please see comments below. This ought to keep me out of trouble for a while... Jim 1) Minor UI issue - On the Mac version, the Summary View shows the Spending Policy menu and the Config button slightly cropped at the bottom. I think a little margin would fix ...

FRP Web Version 2.0 released
Hello, The Flexible Retirement Planner web applet has been updated to a new version as of today. This new version has the same underlying simulation engine as before, but has undergone some GUI revamping and some under-the-hood changes to get ready for the FRP standalone application . If for some re...

Here's a look at the "manage scenarios" window.
It lets you quickly replicate scenarios and manage the list of them.
