Re: Odd results with STABLE spending policy?
Here's what I am entering in FRP. I can't see any obvious errors, but it doesn't seem to be factoring in our pension or SS payments at all. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? It does factor in when using the flexible or conservative spending policy, just not the stable policy. MAIN SCREEN Current Age: 5...

Re: Entering Social Security Estimates
I would caution that these adjustments can be complicated to get right and are definitely something for more advanced users who know how to 'check their work' by carefully reviewing the year-by-year outputs in the detailed view to make sure the simulation is doing what you intended. If I estimate i...

Odd results with STABLE spending policy?
I am using the STABLE spending policy, and have defined our pension and social security payments on the Additional Inputs screen. The Annual Retirement Income on the main screen is left blank. When I run the simulation, it shows our money runs out in 20 years or so. It appears to completely ignore t...

Entering Social Security Estimates
What would you recommend for tax and COLA when entering SS payments on the Additional Inputs screen? Historical COLA adjustments for Social Security seem to be all over the place, including years with no COLA's. I assume I would enter 50% for the taxable amount based on a total income under 42,000? ...

Withdrawal Sources
When we retire we will have my wife's pension, my traditional IRA, and each of our social security payments (at different stages of our retirement).
Does FRP assume our income will come primarily from the pension and SS payments and figure out the remainder from my IRA?
Thanks,
Anthony

Order of Additional Inputs Cash Flows?
I have entered my wife's pension, my social security, and my wife's social security on the Additional Inputs screen. I see there are functions to move the items up or down to change the order. Since I specify the start dates of each item, does it make any difference what order they appear in? I trie...

Help with Ages
I need help understanding the age entries. As of January 2017, I am 53 years old. Is that the age I would enter for "Current Age" or would I enter 54 since that's the age I turn in 2017? My birthday is in November, so my plan is to retire in December right after I turn 62. However, I will ...
