Re: Selectively override order of portfolio withdrawals
That's a very simple way to do it. It will at least give me a ballpark for modeling. Thanks

Selectively override order of portfolio withdrawals
Is there a way to model selectively pulling (say) $10,000 a year from tax deferred investments to fund a portion of retirement over a set number of years? So in this example, instead of starting with taxable investments, you would start with tax deferred for $10,000 and then pull the remainder per t...

Handling pretax versus after tax deferred tax investments
Prior to retirement, I don't think that there are any modeling differences between pre-tax versus after-tax deferred savings. However, after retirement starts and if you work part time for say $10,000 a year, you would be able to contribute $6500 pre-tax money to your Traditional IRA or the same amo...

Re: Why is additional withdrawal not taxed?
Thanks. So if additional withdrawal required from deferred tax investments, this is when the taxes on additional withdrawal column would be populated. correct?

Why is additional withdrawal not taxed?
Jim, in the test file I sent you I noted that the additional withdrawal is not taxed (shown in a far right column in the details tab, show more details). Why no tax? Shouldn't the additional withdrawal be from taxable followed by tax deferred (both of which are taxed)?

Sensitivity analysis will not run
When I click on "run" it builds the first column and then stops running with the first column of colors disappearing.
Guidance appreciated.

Re: How do I model the tax impact of previous year losses
Hi Jim. It's been a long time. I think I worked with your software back in 2008 when it was in beta. Anyway, your reply does make sense, but I still wonder if there is a way to model the fact that I won't be getting taxed on short/long term gains for a long time due to pre-retirement losses in the m...
