Expenses rising at CPI + percent
Jim: I have some expenses that I expect to rise at an increment over inflation. Does FRP provide any way to specify that? Obviously I could just specify the COLA Percent figures manually for those expense lines. But if I want to play with different CPI numbers, then I also have to manually adjust al...

Open recent file?
I'm on a Mac, running OS X El Capitan. My FRP files are deep down inside a series of nested folders, and every time I want to open one, I have to use FRP's Open pane to navigate multiple levels down. Is there any easier way? For example, some Mac programs have an "open recent file" option,...

Taxable percent on cash flows
Just to make sure I understand how it works... If I enter a Misc Income cash flow with a Taxable Percent of 50%, and my Income Tax Rate is 30%, that cash flow will be taxed at 15%. Is that right? I can't think what this parameter would be useful for. Can you give an example of how it might be used? ...

Re: Tax-deductible expenses (charitable contributions, mortgage interest)
Jim - Here's another reason why tax-deductible expenses would be helpful.... My husband is a psychotherapist, self-employed. He has a number of business expenses which are tax-deductible. I can show these expenses in FRP as a separate Misc Expense line, and adjust the amounts to account for taxes. (...

Re: Misc income vs. taxable savings - one-time cash flow
Understood. Thanks. But that raises another question. If I treat the sale of the investment property as Misc Income, how does FRP treat the proceeds? Are they treated as taxable savings thenceforth? I guess that's just a specific instance of a more general question of what happens in any year that i...

Misc income vs. taxable savings - one-time cash flow
I need to model the sale of an investment property on some future date. I assume that the proceeds will go into a taxable savings account. I'm unsure how to model this. It seems to me that I have a choice of showing it either as a Misc Income, or as Taxable Savings. Is that right? But what's the dif...

Re: Show age rather than years?
Sorry, I'm afraid I wasn't clear in my original post. I was referring to the bar graph at the bottom of the Summary View page. At the bottom of each bar is a year number (2016, 2017, ....). What I'd prefer to see is (65, 66, ...) - starting from my current age. The smooshing together of the year num...
