Re: Returns: nominal or adjusted?

The returns are nominal. So an 8% return with a 3% inflation rate is equivalent to a 6% return with a 1% inflation rate. Jim, if that's the case then what (if anything) is the effect/purpose of entering an inflation rate on the main screen? Are you saying that the rates and returns that are output ...

Returns: nominal or adjusted?

If one enters an inflation rate and standard deviation on the main screen, are the projected returns nominal or are they inflation adjusted? I realize they are in current dollars.

When I launch the application it seems to be running (title bar, FRP Menu) but there is nothing showing up on the screen and no option for opening a file. When I try to launch my .frp file (copied from an older machine) it won't lau...

Re: Calculating future value...help!

Thanks! And one more question: In the field that says "Income tax rate" I assume this refers to the tax rate during retirement(?) If this is the case, what is this referring to if one has no earned income in retirement? In other words, if the "Annual Retirement Income" field is b...

Re: Need help understanding the outputs

Jim thanks so much. For the first part, I was unclear what I was looking at in terms of the historical run table. This time I clicked on detailed view and did in fact see the correct investment percentage and the deviation for each year as I had input them. So that answers the first part of my quest...

Need help understanding the outputs

Longtime user, first time poster, love this program. I use the standalone version but the question pertains to both versions. My "additional input" settings (which override the main page settings, as I understand it) have my Portfolio Return Rate at 7%, with a Standard Deviation of 10%. Wh...
