How to Model Proportional Distributions?

Post by mountainsoft »

I was reading an article on withdrawing a little bit from each portfolio type, rather than the traditional Taxable First, then Tax Deferred, then Tax Free:

Is there any way to model something like this in FRP?

I only saw options to take from one portfolio at a time in the settings.

Would something like withdrawing $5000 from tax free and adding $5000 in income model this correctly?

Unfortunately, the planner isn't really set up to support this easily.

You could set up cash flows manually using additional inputs to simulate something close to this, but it'd be a bit of a fight because the planner logic really wants to control the portfolio withdrawal order.
