Standalone app on OS X 10.9.4 (Mavericks)

Post by bobluck »

Hi,
Still loving the app, but having launch issues on my Mac. I have to close and relaunch the app several times before it displays on screen. The menu bar changes as soon as launched, but the main app window often will never appear until closed and relaunched. I'm running current versions of OS and Java.

Also would it be possible to display an icon when launched? Currently just seeing an ugly Java icon.

Thanks

I've noticed that the program takes a little longer to launch with the newest version of Java (about 3-5 seconds). I'm not sure what they've changed, but I don't think it's anything on my end. I don't have a mac, but on Windows and Linux (ubuntu 14.04), the program always appears eventually.

You might try uninstalling all versions of Java, then reinstalling the latest version. There are several Java failure modes that basically require a complete manual uninstall.

Here's a link: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/rem ... rsions.xml

I'll have to look into what's going on with the tray icon. The frp icon should appear, and it does on Windows. But I can see that on Ubuntu the default Java icon shows up. I'm pretty sure it used to work, but it's not working now, so something probably isn't right with that code.

Thanks,
Followed your suggestions and no real change. I did notice a lot faster load time with the Apple version of Java version 6 I believe. I have access to a PC at work and run the frp.jar there with absolutely no lag.
